We each handle stress in a different way. Some of the methods we use are more effective than others, but on the whole we will consider anger management to be something we do after our anger has been expressed, rather than something you continually monitor. Becoming aware of the body’s powerful chakra system however, will enable us to have far more control of our moods, feelings and the way that anger is expressed.

What Are Chakras?

Chakras are energy centres that reside in the body. The word chakra is derived from the Sanskit word meaning ‘wheel’, and it is this centre that continually spins within the body, causing shifts in our energy and raising and lowering the physical vibration of our body. There are seven primary chakra points and these influence the state of your health. These health concerns are caused by an imbalance in the individual charkas that are created by emotional or spiritual issues. If the chakra remains out of balance the issue then manifests as a physical ailment.

Chakra Positions

There are seven chakra energy centres that run in a line, inside the body, from the perineum, near the base of the spine up to the top of the head. These spinning wheels each have a different colour, symbol and vibration and govern the wellbeing of specific physical, emotional and mental issues.

The Base Chakra – is red and is located at the perineum, near the base of the spine.

The Sacral Chakra – is orange and is located just below the navel.

The Solar Plexus Chakra – is yellow and is located between the 12th thoracic and 1st lumbar vertebrae. The inner state that this energy centre governs corresponds with intense emotion like joy, laughter, and anger. When we express anger it is because this chakra is out of balance.

The Heart Chakra – is pink/green and is located in the centre of the chest.

The Throat Chakra – is blue and is located in the throat.

The Brow Chakra – is indigo and is located in the centre of the brow.

The Crown Chakra – is white and is located at the top of the head.

Chakra Healing

An unbalanced or blocked chakra causes illness, ailments and extreme emotions. When we express anger it is because the solar plexus chakra is not operating at the correct vibration or speed that maintains good health and wellbeing. If the chakra is blocked this will also mean that our emotional state is off balance. Think of the times when your body has become tense and your stomach is full of nervous energy that makes you feel decidedly uncomfortable, nauseous and/or defensive. This is the centre where anger arises, and when this happens it is the solar plexus chakra warning you that something is out of kilter.

Quick Self-Healing

When the solar plexus chakra requires attention a simple healing exercise will help you clear, rebalance and heal. This works best with crystals, so it is worth investing in a yellow-coloured stone like citrine, calcite or topaz.

Lie down in a comfortable place and place the crystal on the solar plexus chakra – half way between the navel and heart. As you relax visualise all the charkas energising and healing. See them spinning freely and vibrantly. Initially the crystal may feel cold but will warm up as you lie in a relaxed state. This treatment can last as long as you feel comfortable lying down. Rest assured that healing is taking place and that feelings of anger and aggression will subside.
